day at the beach

This is a scene I'm workin on getting perfect for my light rig animation... if I get super ambitious I think I'll try to comp in rolling waves and some audio to go with it.

Other than that aside from a terible computer crash I've been spending some time with mudbox, zbrush and 3DS MAX. No where as good as maya but getting there.

Here is a colour test for Wulff just checking my uv map for any strange happenings. Also here is a rendered animation of the great dane walkcycle playblast on my year one reel. Finally I figured i'd put a turntable up for a candlestick holder I modeled last week.

Wulff bits

so a little bit of a fur test for Wulff just to see if that's the direction i'll go when I have him finished, if I can get it to comb correctly I think I will. The blade is a short sword i think he'll carry for the purpose of parrying other blades, tooth and claw being his predominant weapons.

Storyboards for a short scene I plan on doing once both characters adre finalized. Both are about 65% done they're modeled and uvmapped with basic textures. Need to rig and finish blend shapes, then with som audio and a little luck... well we'll see won't we

Stickfianna Jones

So a while back we modeled Stickfa toys as an intro to character modeling. Mine had an adventurous streak so he 'requisitioned ' a lamp I made for a character I was designing at the time.

I was going for an old copper bullseye lamp combined with the look of an ishi-doro(Japanese stone lantern)

A table setup I did when I was learning about caustic refraction and sub surface scattering, it's not bad, there is some tweaking i'd still like to do, but that is the way life is i guess.
